LOUISA COUNTY, Va. (CBS19 NEWS) -- One person is dead and four others have been hospitalized following a Friday night crash in Louisa County.

The Virginia State Police Police responded to the crash on Bibb Store Road just south of the intersection of Goldmine Road around 10:25 p.m.

Police say a 2006 Pontiac Torrent was heading south on Bibb Store Road when it crested a hill at a high rate of speed.

The driver ran off the left side of the road and overcorrected. The SUV then ran off the right side of the road, hit two trees and caught fire.

There were five teens, all ages 16 and 17, in the SUV at the time.

One was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash while the other four, including the driver, were all taken to the hospital with serious injuries but non-life-threatening injuries.

Alcohol is not believed to be a factor in this crash.

VSP says the driver was issued a summons for reckless driving and for driving outside of passenger restrictions.
