ALBEMARLE COUNTY, Va. (CBS19 NEWS) -- People will soon be able to fly direct from Charlottesville to Philadelphia.

According to a release, American Airlines will resume this service on April 4 using regional jets.

“We are excited to see American Airlines adding Philadelphia to their Charlotte and LaGuardia daily service. These connections returning will provide even more global reach for the Charlottesville community,” said Melinda Crawford, Chief Executive Officer for CHO.

Flights will be departing daily from Charlottesville just before 6 p.m. while those coming from Philadelphia will head south at 3:30 p.m. daily.

This is the second major service announcement that has come out of CHO in the last week.
