Arts collective teams up with McGuffey for annual art exhibition
CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (CBS19 NEWS) -- The Charlottesville Black Arts Collective is working in partnership with the McGuffey Arts Center to present an annual art exhibition.
This is the third year for the event, which is called Blackity Black Black.
Kori Price, the president of the Black Arts Collective, says the name was chosen to be a fun and very present expression of black culture.
At the event, people will be able to hear from different poets and musicians. The art pieces all have different expressions of thoughts, ideas, and concepts.
"Expect to see all things Black joy, and celebration of Black heritage and Black culture," Price said. "It's really an immersion in what's Blackity Black Black with the exhibition exists."
The opening reception for the show is 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Friday at the McGuffey Arts Center. The show runs through April 2.
