CPD provides update on Sunshine Supermarket shooting

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va (CBS19 News) -- Charlottesville Police Department has provided a statement on the shooting that happened Saturday at the Sunshine Supermarket off Cherry Avenue.
When officers arrived on scene they found 20-year-old Gordonsville resident Justice Kilel deceased inside the business. CPD was also told another person had been transported to UVA Medical Center to be treated for a gunshot wound.
Police say Kilel was inside the store purchasing an item when two individuals walked in and assaulted him. During the altercation, two individuals fired shots.
The suspect who was admitted to the hospital has been charged with second degree murder and use of a firearm in commission of a felony. They are 17-years-old. CPD is not releasing any other information because they are a minor.
The second suspect has been identified as 19-year-old Nasier McGhee. He was found at an apartment complex in Albemarle County. He has been charged with one count of malicious wounding.
Police believe that the incident was not random and that there is no threat to the public.
