CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (CBS19 SPORTS)-- The cavaliers move to 6-0 for the first time since 2007 with an 18-12 win over Elon. 

Eight different players scored goals on the day and outshot the Phoenix 29-25. Senior Jaime Biskup and sophomore Kate Miller led the Cavaliers in scoring against the Phoenix. 

Virginia took an early 3-0 lead with goals by senior Kiki Shaw, Biskup and junior Mackenzie Hoeg. Biskup scored again to give UVA a 4-2 lead at the end of the first quarter.

Shaw opened up the second quarter with her second goal of the day but Elon would go on a scoring spree to tie the game at 6-6. The Cavaliers clawed back with a 3-0 run with goals from sophomore Rachel Clark, sophomore Maureen Duffy and Miller’s first of the game.

After the half Elon continued its aggressive scoring the first two goals to make it 9-8 game. Virginia stretched its lead to 13-8 with a 4-0 run. Biskup and Miller scored goals during a 4-2 run for Elon but the Cavaliers secured the game with three straight goals, including back-to-back goals from McGovern to end the game.
