Louisa County Public Schools holds teacher book fair
LOUISA COUNTY, Va. (CBS19 NEWS) -- Louisa County Public Schools hosted a book fair for teachers with the help of Green Valley.
All kindergarten through fifth grade teachers in Louisa county and sixth through 12th grade English teachers were able to come by and pick out some books in their classroom.
The teachers were given $50 to spend on books. The money is coming from the LCPS instructional fund, which helps keep the libraries running.
"That's great; it promotes reading, and so if teachers are able to get a book into a child's head, then obviously it promotes reading and education," said Clayton Robertson, manager of Book Fair.
The Green Valley book store is family-owned; it's a store in Mt. Crawford where you can find books and more at up to a 90 percent discount.
