NELSON COUNTY, Va. (CBS19 NEWS) -- The Virginia Department of Transportation wants to hear from people about a particular road in Nelson County.

There is a planning study being conducted for Route 151 from Avon Road to Beech Grove Road.

According to VDOT, this student aims to identify strategies and improvements to address existing and future traffic congestion, safety concerns, and improvements to multi-modal accessibility on the corridor.

Some of the improvements that are being considered include changes to intersection lane configurations, access management, systemic safety treatments like rumble strips, bicycle/pedestrian accommodations, and transit accessibility.

The 14-mile road averages about 8,500 vehicles every day between Avon Road and River Road. South of River Road, that drops to about 4,500.

The online survey is available through April 10.
