Youngkin orders flags lowered in honor of fallen wildland firefighter

RICHMOND, Va. (CBS19 NEWS) -- Flags across Virginia are being lowered to half-staff in honor of a firefighter who was killed in the line of duty last week.
Governor Glenn Youngkin issued the order lowering the flags on Monday morning.
Under the order, all U.S. and Commonwealth of Virginia flags will fly at half-staff until sunset in honor of Rocky Shane Wood.
The Virginia Department of Forestry announced Wood’s passing Friday.
He died while fighting a wildfire in Buchanan County on Thursday night.
Wood was also the Vice-Mayor of the town of Haysi and chief of the Haysi Volunteer Fire Department.
