CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (CBS19 NEWS) -- A new monthly, student-led program is being introduced at Charlottesville High School. It's called Elevate.
This is a program that centers around students, by giving them a platform to lift up their voices and their concerns.

Starting this month, CHS is encouraging students to become part of the program, which will feature different topics each month.

According to CHS officials, this is another avenue for students to share their experience, insight and enthusiasm for improving their community.

This month's inaugural topic is centered around the Black student experience in Charlottesville.
