Police ask for help to find wanted man
ALBEMARLE COUNTY, Va. (CBS19 NEWS) -- The Albemarle County Police Department is asking for the community’s help to find a fugitive.
According to police, 38-year-old James Allen Morris had been arrested March 27 on multiple felonies and was in custody at the Albemarle-Charlottesville Regional Jail, where he was being held without bond.
On March 31, he was taken to the University of Virginia hospital, and officials decided he would stay there with an ankle monitor and no jail staff.
Around 4 p.m. that day, the jail was notified that the monitor had been removed and Morris was gone.
He is now wanted on a misdemeanor charge out of Albemarle County for removing the monitor.
Morris’ original arrest had been on multiple warrants, such as felony eluding, out of Fluvanna County.
