Gum Spring resident killed in Louisa County crash

LOUISA COUNTY, Va. (CBS19 NEWS) -- One person was killed in a crash that occurred Friday night in Louisa County.
According to the Virginia State Police, the crash occurred around 8:15 p.m. on Cross County Road at the intersection of J and R Drive.
A 2004 Chrysler Crossfire was heading south on Cross County Road when it crossed the double solid line into the northbound lane, hitting a 2006 Dodge Caravan head-on.
The driver of the Chrysler, identified as 62-year-old Elise Laverne Mills of Gum Spring, died at the scene. She was not wearing a seat belt.
The driver of the Dodge, a 46-year-old man from Mineral, suffered minor injuries. He was wearing a seat belt.
Alcohol is believed to be a contributing factor in this crash, and the investigation is ongoing.
