CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (CBS19 NEWS) -- On Friday morning, there was a break-in reported at a sorority house on Grounds with a couple of the residents saying they were assaulted as they slept.

The Charlottesville Police Department arrested 18-year-old Harry Benjamin Sedwick V of Albemarle County for breaking and entering and two counts of aggravated sexual battery.

According to the report, just after 4 a.m. Friday, witnesses said Sedwick broke into the Kappa Delta sorority house, went into two girls' bedrooms while they were asleep, touched their shoulders and forcefully squeezed their breasts.

The police were called soon after. The report says while the officers were on their way to respond to the call, they spotted Sedwick in a parking lot on Main Street.

Witnesses had given a description to police and said they thought his name was Harry.

CPD says Sedwick first said he was going to his car to go home and he had been drinking earlier in the night.

He later said he "accidentally" went into the house while looking for a friend's girlfriend's house.

The officer said after some back and forth, Sedwick admitted he took off his shoes and went into two girls' bedrooms and touched their shoulders and said he "may have" squeezed their breasts.

He said he was trying to wake them up.

Sedwick is being held at the Albemarle-Charlottesville Regional Jail. He’ll next appear in court on May 4.

Neither the national organization nor the local chapter of the Kappa Delta sorority responded to a request for comment.
