CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (CBS19 SPORTS)-- For over three decades Bo Perriello has been the focal point of STAB lacrosse. Now in his final season with the Saints Perriello was honored pregame Friday for his dedication to STAB and the lacrosse program. 

The STAB alum turned head coach leaves behind a legacy of success. During his time on the field Perriello was apart of 6 state championship teams, both as a player and a coach. The former VISAA, Prep League and Central Virginia Coach of the Year has sent over a 100 players to play at the collegiate level and boasts a 162-73 win record. 

"It's been a central part of my life for as long as I can remember," said STAB head coach Bo Perriello, "Having been a student here an athlete, a lacrosse player, being able to come back here and have the chance to come back here and work with Coach Tarring and take over the program that has meant so much to me. It really comes back to the relationship with with those players, many of whom have been texting and coming back for for alumni weekend this weekend. It's really just overwhelming to see three generations of STAB lacrosse players coming back. Really, so many of my major life moments have been here with STAB lacrosse."

Perriello also spent time teaching at STAB as a chemistry teacher. Perriello will now take on the role of head of school at the Field School of Charlottesville.
