Red flag warnings issued across area

RICHMOND, Va. (CBS19 NEWS) -- The National Weather Service has issued red flag warnings for the entire area.
The warning will be in effect from 12 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday due to gusty winds and how humidity levels.
Gusts of up to 45 miles per hour are possible, and with the low relative humidity, the risk of any fire getting out of control is increased.
Because of this, all outdoor burning is discouraged.
Virginia’s burning law is also in effect during the spring wildfire season, which runs through the end of the month.
That means outdoor burning is not allowed at all before 4 p.m. if it is within 300 feet of woods or dry grass, which could carry flames quickly.
Even if a person takes all of the proper precautions and gets the required permits, if a fire escapes control, whoever started it is responsible for suppression costs.
