ALBEMARLE COUNTY, Va. (CBS19 NEWS) -- A man accused of killing his wife in 2020 is standing trial this week in Albemarle County.

James Elliot Fitch is facing a second-degree murder charge for the November 2020 shooting death of Yvette Denise Jackson.

Prosecutors say the couple had recently separated when Fitch allegedly drove to the place where Jackson was employed and shot her outside.

The trial began on Wednesday and is slated to end on Friday.
