CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (CBS19 SPORTS) -- Former ACC rivals will meet once again in football sooner rather later after Virginia announced their road trip to Maryland was moved up on the schedule for next season.

The Cavaliers will now face Maryland on Friday, Sept. 15, a day before the teams were originally scheduled to meet in College Park. The Friday night game will mean UVA will play back-to-back Friday nights with their ACC opener against NC State already slated for Friday, Sept. 22 the following week.

Virginia will now play three non-Saturday kickoffs with a late season trip to Louisville on Thursday, Nov. 9.

The meeting between UVA and Maryland will be the 79th all-time, but the first since 2013 before the Terrapins left to join the Big Ten Conference.
