RICHMOND, Va. (CBS19 NEWS) -- For the 14th year, the Allen and Allen law firm is looking to honor Hometown Heroes.

This award recognizes the positive impact of people who generate change in their communities or in the lives of people around them.

“The Allen and Allen Hometown Heroes award is something our entire firm looks forward to each year, and we take pride in the fact that it’s become such a staple in communities across Virginia,” said Edward Allen, president of Allen and Allen.

First created in 2010 to honor the firm’s 100th anniversary, hundreds of people have been recognized, including community leaders, foster parents, disability advocates, small business owners, teachers, firefighters, and others.

There is a short nomination form available here that people can fill out to recognize a hero in their lives. Paper forms can also be found in each of the firm’s physical locations.

Nominations need to be submitted between May 1 and 31, and then the selected heroes will be announced on July 17.
