Amputee woman holds walk to raise awareness and raise money for new hands
ORANGE COUNTY, Va. (CBS19 NEWS) -- A paraplegic woman who lost her limbs more than a year ago to sepsis is looking to get her independence back.
On Saturday, Trenesa Lee will host the “Walk with a Smile” at Veterans Park in Orange County. The event is from 12 p.m. to 6 p.m. There will be face painting, food, and live music. She hopes to inspire people with her story and raise money for new hands.
For a year, she has had to depend on others to help her live. She said it is time to take back her life.
“I went unconscious for two weeks and they said in order to save my life they had to amputate my limbs, all four of my limbs. So I developed this, and this is how I use my phone,” said Lee.
She wants to raise as much money as possible to be prepared. No donation is too small.
