ALBEMARLE COUNTY, Va. (CBS19 NEWS) -- Around 10 a.m. Sunday, the Charlottesville Fire Department and Albemarle County Department of Fire Rescue arrived at the railroad tracks between Kenwood Lane and John Warner Parkway.

First responders arrived at the scene where a stationary 500-gallon propane tank had rolled off its ground pad. This propane tank sits next to the tracks to power emergency generators for the trains.

The crews were able to shut off the tank to contain the leak.

The propane naturally dissipated and caused no further environmental problems.

The tank, which had fallen onto part of the Rivanna Trail, was removed Tuesday.
