Second escaped inmate has been recaptured

PRINCE EDWARD COUNTY, Va. (CBS19 NEWS) -- A man who escaped from a Virginia jail more than a week ago has now been recaptured, and he was not that far away.
According to WRIC in Richmond, the Prince Edward County Sheriff’s Office says 44-year-old Bruce Callahan was taken into custody around 5:30 a.m. Monday.
He was reportedly found on the campus of Longwood University.
The university released a statement saying Callahan was identified and arrested by campus police and the Farmville Police Department.
Callahan was being held on federal drug and weapons charges.
Callahan and 26-year-old Alder Marin-Sotelo escaped from the Piedmont Regional Jail on April 30, though at reportedly different times.
Marin-Sotelo got out around 1:40 a.m. while Callahan escaped around 11:20 p.m., though both did so by “manipulating a locking mechanism on the rear exit door.”
Marin-Sotelo, who is facing a murder charge for killing a North Carolina sheriff’s deputy, was captured in Mexico on May 4.
Both are expected to face additional charges related to their escape.
