CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (CBS19 NEWS) -- The Charlottesville Arts Festival kicks off Ix Art Park Foundation’s slate of signature events and festivals for 2023 in downtown Charlottesville.

The festival returns for its third year anniversary on the weekend of May 27-28. It annually welcomes more than 50 fine artists of all genres and celebrates creativity, diversity, and community. The event focuses on fine and visual arts, immersive art experiences, interactive artist demonstrations and workshops, and allows patrons to participate in the art-making process. Some of this year’s workshops include watercolors, making patterns with colorful bubble bath powder and learning to make art with your cell phone.

Both days will feature live music. Saturday’s schedule opens with Vicky Lee, followed by Robert Jospe and Jo Ravida. On Sunday, Elizabeth Owens opens the proceedings, followed by Annabeth Sings and Swansong.

Admission to the Looking Glass Immersive Art Museum can be added for $5 to festival-goers, who can enjoy the many dimensions and styles of art at Ix Art Park.

Other events coming later in the year are The Fae Festival in June, The Soul of Cville in August, The Fantasy Festival in October and The Charlottesville Tattoo & Vinyl Festival in November.
