LURAY, Va. (CBS19 NEWS) -- Several trails in the Shenandoah National Park are closed due to a search for a missing person.

The national park says there are 25 search personnel and a dog team from the Virginia Department of Emergency Management currently searching for 21-year-old Mateo Luis Cobo Zevallos.

Earlier this week, the Virginia State Police issued a Critical Missing Adult Alert for this man from Fairfax County.

The trails that are currently closed include Overall Run, Traces, Mathews Arm, Tuscarora, Beecher Ridge and Thompson Hollow.

Zevallos was last seen leaving his home on Bradford Wood Court in Oakton on May 5. He was heading toward George Mason University.

His vehicle has since been found in the national park.

Zevallos may be wearing gray sweatpants and a gray, black and brown flannel shirt. He may also be carrying a green North Face backpack.

He is a 5-foot-9 Hispanic man weighing 190 pounds with black hair and brown eyes.

Police previously reported that his disappearance poses a risk to his health and safety due to mental or physical health issues.

Anyone with information on Zevallos’ whereabouts is asked to call (540) 999-3422 to report that information to the Shenandoah National Park.
