ALBEMARLE COUNTY, Va. (CBS19 NEWS) -- Albemarle County preschools are teaching students with hands-on experiences and they're looking for more families to enroll their kids.

Wildrock Children's Farm visited Agnor-Hurt Elementary on Thursday and taught about turtles.

Through the program partnership, students have also recently explored rabbits, gardens and spring.

Lisa Molinari, the preschool lead coach for Albemarle County Public Schools, said this is the best way to learn.

"The things that we engage in and that we find joy in are the things that we hold closest to our heart and our memory. And we believe that all learning should be like that, but it really needs to be like that for four-year-olds because we want to excite them with the possibility of learning," she said.

Molinari asked that anyone who is interested in preschool programs apply through the ACPS website, and then you can see if your child is eligible.

She said the school division is committed to finding the right placement for every child.
