ALBANY, N.Y. (CBS19 SPORTS) -- Behind a record day from Connor Shellenberger, No. 2 Virginia moves past No. 7 Georgetown with a 17-14 win to advance to Championship Weekend in Philadelphia.

The Cavaliers return to the NCAA Tournament Semifinals for the 25th time in program history and will face the winner of No. 6 Johns Hopkins and No. 3 Notre Dame.

Shellenberger lived up to his 'Mr. May' nickname with six goals and four assists. The six goals and 10 points both tied the Virginia NCAA Tournament single game record. In eight career postseason games, the St. Anne's-Belfield alum now has 26 goals and 22 assists, for an average of six points per game.

UVA also received a standout performance from All-American faceoff man Petey LaSalla, who won 17 out of 34 face-offs.

Four other Cavaliers scored multiple goals in the game with Payton Cormier, Xander Dickson, Griffin Schutz and Peter Garno tallying two each.
