Cavaliers return to NCAA Championship with upset of Texas

ORLANDO, Fl. (CBS19 SPORTS) -- The defending NCAA Champions are heading back to the championship match after No. 5 Virginia upset No. 1 Texas 4-1 at the USTA National Campus.
Junior Alexander Kiefer delivered the match clinching point against Cleeve Harper on court five to send the Cavaliers back to the title match on Sunday.
UVA started out by winning the doubles point the pairings of Alexander Kiefer and Ryan Goetz as well as Chris Rodesch and Jeffrey von der Schulenburg both winning their matches 6-1.
In singles, Goetz and quarterfinal's hero Mans Dahlberg each won their matches before Kiefer clinched the win.
Virginia will face No. 3 Ohio State, who swept No. 2 TCU 4-0, in the championship match on Sunday, May 21 in Orlando with the Cavaliers taking aim at their first back-to-back championships since winning three-straight from 2015-2017.
