CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA. (CBS19 SPORTS)-- The stage is set for the ACC baseball Championship. UVA baseball enters the ACC tournament as the number 2 seed. The Cavaliers fall into Pool B where they will face no. 11 Georgia Tech and no. 7 North Carolina. 

The 12 teams in the tournament have been divided into four separate pools with three teams each. Each team will play the other two teams in the pool once, with the best team advancing to the semifinals. If teams are tied at the end of pool play, the highest-seeded team will advance. 

UVA will face Georgia Tech for the fourth straight time Wednesday at 3 pm, followed by another 3 pm game on Thursday against North Carolina. If the Cavaliers advance to the semifinals they will play Saturday in the 5 pm game slot against the winner from Pool C.

 

In pool A there is no. 1 seed Wake Forest, no. 8 Notre Dame, and no. 12 Pitt. No. 3 Clemson, no. 6 Boston College, and no. 10 Virginia Tech fall into Pool C while no. 4 Miami, no. 5 Duke, and no. 9 NC State round out the play in Pool D. 

UVA enters the postseason as the regular season ACC Coastal division champs. UVA is riding a 9-game win streak, the last three wins of which came against Georgia Tech. All games will be played at the Durham Bulls Athletic Park in Durham, N.C.
