CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (CBS19 NEWS) -- An annual event that takes place in Charlottesville has been canceled this year.

The Virginia Festival of the Wheel, which supports the University of Virginia Cancer Center, will not be taking place in 2023.

According to the festival’s website, the event has been canceled due to a serious health issue affecting an essential member of its team.

The goal is to have the festival return in 2024 at a new venue, the Foxfield Races property.

Proceeds from this annual festival benefit the UVA Cancer Center’s Patient Care Fund.

People who have already submitted applications to have their vehicle included in the festival this year will have that application carried over to 2024.
