Variety of summer camps available at IX Art Park

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (CBS19 NEWS) -- IX Art Park will be holding The Looking Glass Lab camps all summer long that will give children as young as three and as old as 13 a chance to explore their artistic sides.
The Arts and Nature camps, for kids ages three to five, are designed to nurture childrens’ sense of wonder, curiosity and self-expression. They run from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
For children ages six to nine, the week-long Creature Builder Collective camps will explore exciting subjects through various artistic mediums such as sculpture, illustrations, painting, puppetry, stop-motion animation and more. If “Creatures of Myth” isn’t up your alley, there’s always “Cat’s All Folks,” “Totally Nautical,” “Prehistoria” and several others to choose from. The camps run from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day.
Children ages 10 to 13 can investigate Stop Mo Stories. This camp provides lessons in patience, focus as collaboration, as well as puppet building and set design. Guided by teaching artists, campers will create a five- to 10-minute stop-motion animated film. The camps run from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day.
