CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (CBS19 NEWS) -- Wahoos fans were electric as the University of Virginia baseball team defeated Duke in the super regionals, punching a ticket to Omaha.

“I have been a Virginia fan basically since I was born in 67,” said Todd Humphery, a UVA baseball fan.

Lifelong fans made sure they got to be a part of this moment.

“We’ve been here all three days,” one fan said.

“I’m feeling great, we’re going to the college world series,” said River, another UVA fan.

Dylan Booth is one lucky fan who already secured his spot in the stands in Omaha.

“I’m feeling pumped! I got two tickets to Nebraska. I’m going to Omaha, we’re going to celebrate. We’re going to have a good time,” he said.

Fans were leaving the Dish screaming with excitement.

“We’re going to Omaha baby!” said one fan, who also says he wants to go to Omaha. “I’m going to try. I’m going to try. If I can get tickets we’re going.”

Some fans won’t be able to make it to Omaha but they’ll be cheering from home.

“We’re going to bring our positive energy to the TV screen,” shared a UVA student.

“A job keeps getting in my way,” said another fan.

It's an experience many fans will never forget, especially their favorite moments.

“A homerun that landed probably 10 feet from us,” shared River.

“The home runs,” one little boy said.

And they’ll remember watching their favorite players.

“Gelof,” said a fan, who says his favorite player is "the king."
