Fans buckle up to head to Omaha to cheer on the Hoos
CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (CBS19 NEWS) -- It's 1,186 miles from Charlottesville to Omaha.
That’s a drive a local UVA baseball fan is willing to make to see his favorite team play in the College World Series.
“We won back in 2015 and after that, I always wanted to go,” said Dylan Booth.
Now, eight years later, that nearly 18-hour drive is worth it for Booth.
“It’s going to be very exciting the whole ride down there. We’re going to be giddy the whole way. It’s going to be fun. It’s going to be electric. The music is definitely going to be bopping, and then when we touch down over there it’s going to be a whole different story over there. I know that for sure,” said Booth.
For the fans that don’t want to drive or can’t, flights from Charlottesville to Omaha are in the 800- to 900-dollar price range on Thursday and Friday.
If you’re holding out for Virginia to make the best-of-three championship series, that would start on June 24. Those tickets are in the 500- to 600-dollar range but are bound to go up.
The Cavaliers will start playing on Friday against Florida.
