ALBEMARLE COUNTY, Va. (CBS19 NEWS) -- Crews will be inspecting several bridges in Albemarle County this week.

The Virginia Department of Transportation says drivers will see alternating lane closures with flaggers directing them.

Crews were out on Free Union Road between Old Free Union Road and Garth Road on Monday.

On Tuesday, they will be on Decca Lane between Garth Road and Owensville Road. Drivers should expect to see flaggers between 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m.

Wednesday will see inspections taking place on multiple roads, including Royal Orchard Drive between Rockfish Gap Turnpike and the dead end, Buffalo River Road between Lexington Lane and the Greene County line, James River Road between Howardsville Turnpike and the Nelson County line, Proffit Road between Stony Point Road and Polo Grounds Road, and Berkmar Drive between Woodbrook Drive and Hilton Heights Road.

All of this work will again be taking place between 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m.

On Thursday night, crews will be looking at the bridges between mile markers 100 and 102 on Interstate 64. This will be in both east and westbound lanes between 8 p.m. Thursday and 6 a.m. Friday.

Finally, there will be inspections on North Milton Road between Richmond Road and Milton Hills Drive between 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. Friday.

There are also bridge deck repairs taking place during the overnight hours on westbound I-64 between mile markers 120 and 122 and on North Milton Road between Milton Road and Richmond Road.

And in Fluvanna County, there will be inspectors out on James Madison Highway between Central Plains Road and Thomas Jefferson Parkway and on West River Road between Paynes Landing Road and Hardware Road.

This work will be taking place Friday between 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m.
