CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (CBS19Sports) -- A host of Tom Sox are set to play in the upcoming Valley Baseball League All-Star game with five players selected to head to Front Royal.

Pitchers Mike Eggert (Wofford) and Mark Perkins (Rice), shortstop Kyle Edwards (Old Dominion), third baseman Brice Martinez (Wofford) and catcher Kalvin Alexander (Georgia Southwestern) will all suit up for the South team on Sunday at 7 p.m. in Front Royal at Bing Crosby Stadium.

Charlottesville head coach Lyndon Coleman will lead the south team after coaching the Tom Sox to the best win percentage among South teams. Coleman is the second Tom Sox coach in the last three seasons to lead the South team in the All-Star game.=

Eggert has only allowed one hit in his 6.2 innings this season and is one of five Tom Sox pitchers to not allow a run. Perkins has matched Eggert with a similarly impressive start, tossing nine innings with a 2.00 ERA.

Edwards has enjoyed a breakout summer in his return to Charlottesville leading the team in batting average, double, runs scored and is tied for the lead in RBI. Alexander joins fellow Tom Sox returners in Eggert and Edwards to be named to the All-Star game in their second summers. Martinez has provided a consistent bat in the lineup driving in nine runs to tie Edwards and Sergio Rivera for the team lead, while also swiping eight bases.

Outfielder Derek Williams (Florida Southwestern State) will also represent the Tom Sox in the home run derby, while will happen before first pitch of the All-Star game.
