Four local boutique exercise studios have teamed up, offering special exercise classes to raise money for the Trevor Project.

The Trevor Project is a nonprofit organization focused on suicide prevention for LGBTQ+ youth. They offer 24/7 crisis support services, among other things.

For Pride month, MADabolic, purvelo, [solidcore], and Hot Yoga Charlottesville are each offering donation-based exercise classes to raise money for the organization.

There will be a class at [solidcore] on Wednesday at 4:30 p.m. and at purvelo on Friday at 4:30 p.m.

Katlin Carpenter with [solidcore] says its important to bring people together to support the LGBTQ+ community and let them know they are welcome, with open arms, in these spaces.

"When it comes to something like this, instead of all doing things separately, we figured why not do it together, so we can bring our communities together and realize, hey, why don't we celebrate the lgbtq community as a whole as opposed to doing it separately? And now we can do this for years to come and maybe add in other fitness studios and raise even more money for such a great cause," she said.

People who attend the classes and donate are also entered into a raffle. So far, they have raised just over $700.
