CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (CBS19 NEWS) -- “It’s a really great week to go out and celebrate the great restaurants of Charlottesville,” said Stephanie Vogtman, the event director for CVille Weekly.

Restaurant Week is underway, where local foodies can eat a delicious three-course meal while benefiting a local nonprofit.

“You go out and you order, the restaurants are donating a dollar from each menu to the Blue Ridge Area Food Bank,” said Vogtman.

Each participating restaurant has created special menus for the event.

At Matchbox, for $35, enjoy items like the mini burgers, miso salmon, and mini desserts.

With inflation on the rise, local restaurants are happy to give customers high-quality food at a reasonable price.

“We think everyone deserves a little break from high food costs today,” said Maurice Kelly, the director of operations at Matchbox.

At The Ridley, for $35, enjoy the Southern-inspired dishes like blackened catfish and surf and turf entrees.

The Ridley is also one restaurant that is celebrating two things this week.

“It’s really cool that this week is both CVille Restaurant Week and Black Restaurant Week. So, we’re really excited to welcome some guests who maybe haven’t dined with us before,” said Floyd Campbell, the general manager at The Ridley.

At The Bebedero, dine on salmon risotto and margarita pie for only $35.

At The Whiskey Jar, enjoy the shrimp and grits or BBQ nachos for $35.

At South and Central, step out of your comfort zone and try octopus and baked Alaska for $45.

At Ralph Sampson’s, taste items like the pan fried chicken leg for $35.

Charlottesville Weekly says that this week is more than just trying amazing food from your favorite restaurants.

“It’s a great fundraising cause and I would expect it’s just going to be a great week full of delicious food and amazingly talented chefs putting their entire heart and soul out there for the Charlottesville community,” added Vogtman.
