ALBEMARLE COUNTY, Va. (CBS19 NEWS) -- People will be able to fly from Charlottesville directly to Chicago beginning next week.

United Airlines will resume service from the Charlottesville-Albemarle Airport to O’Hare International Airport on Aug. 2.

“United Airlines’ confidence in CHO is evident with the return of service to Chicago”, said Don Long, CHO Airport’s Chairman of the Board. “They are one of the largest air carriers in the world and have an extensive network beyond Chicago. I know our community will support this route as they did before the pandemic.  CHO has been working with United to bring this service back as quickly as possible.”

O’Hare is a major hub for United, which means travelers will be able to make numerous connections.

The current schedule is to have daily flights. Flights going to Chicago will leave CHO at 10:30 a.m. while flights from Chicago will arrive at 9:10 p.m.
