CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (CBS19 NEWS) -- The Goat Busters have been eating weeds in Charlottesville’s Washington Park since Monday.

By Friday, 45 Kiko goats had eaten through most of the weeds.

Rob Mathes, Charlottesville landscape manager, said now they’re on to the next step.

"Soon after this is done, we're going to follow up with some manual labor including cutting, and some very selective spot treatments of herbicides," he said.

They'll plant trees this winter to add to the goal of restoring tree canopy across the city.

Parks and Recreation has a few more sites where it would like to bring the goats and it's waiting to confirm.
