ALBEMARLE COUNTY, Va. (CBS19 NEWS) -- Albemarle County Public Schools has 215 new teachers this school year.

Tuesday, they were getting acclimated to the district at the ACPS new teacher academy.

They're learning about the school district's mission and hearing from current teachers and administrators.

Caleb Davis, an incoming third grade teacher at Stony Point Elementary, said he's excited to build new relationships.  

"Making new bonds with people, building new relationships with the students. I want to be a teacher because I want to change young lives and make the Charlottesville area a better place," he said.

Davis said he was looking forward to learning new skills for his classroom.
