Police remove inactive explosive device from construction site

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (CBS19 NEWS) -- The Charlottesville Police Department says an inactive controlled explosive device has been removed from a construction site.
According to police, officers responded to the site on the 300 block of Long Street on Friday afternoon.
The 250 Bypass was blocked for a short time in the area while the device was examined and removed.
There is no threat to residents or businesses.
