ALBEMARLE COUNTY, Va. (CBS19 NEWS) -- A bridge project in Albemarle County has finished up a couple of days early.

The Virginia Department of Transportation says crews have completed work to replace the superstructure of the bridge over the Doyles River.

The project closed Blackwells Hollow Road at Browns Gap Turnpike in July.

Crews replaced the steel beam and concrete deck with concrete beams.

The road reopened Thursday afternoon and the bridge is now open to all legal loads.
