GREENE COUNTY, Va. (CBS19 NEWS) -- The Virginia State Police has identified the person killed in a Greene County crash on Wednesday.

According to police, the crash occurred around 11:20 a.m. at the intersection of Seminole Trail and Commerce Drive.

A 2016 Ford Transit van was heading east on Commerce Drive when it tried to pull across Seminole Trail and into the path of a northbound 2007 Ford Explorer.

The crash caused the Explorer to run off the side of the road and hit a building.

The driver of the Explorer, identified as 66-year-old Roland Jackson of Madison, died at the scene. He was not wearing a seat belt.

A 62-year-old woman who was a passenger in the Explorer was treated at an area hospital for minor injuries. She was wearing a seat belt.

The driver of the Transit, 40-year-old Brooks S. Travis of Gordonsville, was not hurt in the crash. He was not wearing a seat belt.

VSP reports charges are pending in this incident.
