CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (CBS19 NEWS) -- The CBS19 Sports Department is producing two sports specials this week ahead of the start of the University of Virginia football season.

The Cavalier Kickoff airs Friday at 7 p.m. on CBS19. The 30-minute show will set the stage for the upcoming season with an in-depth look at the Hoos and their competition this year.

The Cavalier Pregame show will air Saturday at 11 a.m. on ABC Virginia WVAW.

Sports Director Anne-Parker Coleman and reporter Felicity Taylor will be live in Nashville for a full hour of coverage right before the UVA-Tennessee game kicks off on ABC at noon.

“We’ve been working hard covering the team since fall camp began, and it’s going to be great covering them in person when they hit the field in Tennessee,” Coleman said.

“We are really excited to start the season strong with live coverage you won’t see anywhere else in town. UVA sports have always been a great way for people to get together and cheer toward a common goal, and we’re ready to be a part of it,” news director Dan Schutte said.

Programming note: Due to the airing of the Cavalier Pregame show, Hearts of Heroes and Vets Saving Pets will not be seen on ABC Virginia this Saturday. You can watch those shows Sunday at 11 a.m. and 11:30 a.m. respectively.
