ALBEMARLE COUNTY, Va. (CBS19 NEWS) -- Power has been restored to people in northern Albemarle County after a car crashed into a power pole.

It happened Monday morning on Route 29 near Timberwood Drive.

A car crashed into a power pole, causing the power lines to drop onto Route 29.

The crash knocked out power to thousands of people in the Hollymead area.

Part of Route 29 was blocked while crews worked to fix the downed power lines.

One person was hospitalized with injuries.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
