IX Art Park announces it is taking a step back
CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (CBS19 NEWS) -- IX Art Park is taking a step back.
For two years, the nonprofit was receiving emergency funds to help balance payroll and expenses. But since that has expired, the president of the Board of Ix Art Park Foundation, Susan Krischel, says the park realized it needs to be more financially responsible moving forward.
“Sometimes I think we were trying to be too many things to too many people at one time. We need to slow down a little bit, take a pause, reflect, and figure out where our strengths are. We became a nonprofit six months before COVID hit,” said Krischel.
The park will continue to have the market each Saturday, and the Looking Glass will remain open but only on Saturday and Sunday.
The board says this isn’t goodbye. They hope to be operating by next year.
