CULPEPER COUNTY, Va. (CBS19 NEWS) -- A Louisa resident was killed in a crash in Culpeper County last week.

According to the Virginia State Police, the crash occurred around 8:55 a.m. on Zachary Taylor Highway just north of Rapidan Road on Sept. 6.

A 1995 Mack tractor-trailer was heading south on Zachary Taylor Highway when it tried to brake for another southbound vehicle that was trying to make a left turn.

The driver of the tractor-trailer, identified as 42-year-old Edwin J. Bustillo-Lagos of Fredericksburg, lost control, jackknifed, and crossed a double solid center line.

The tractor-trailer then hit a northbound 1996 Honda Accord, pushing the Accord off the road and into a stone fence.

The driver of the Accord, identified as 27-year-old Andrew P. Huddleston of Louisa, died at the scene of the crash.

Bustillo-Lagos was taken to the University of Virginia Medical Center with minor injuries.

Police say both drivers were wearing seat belts.

The investigation into this crash is ongoing and charges are pending.
