Pompeo set to speak at Alumni Hall

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (CBS19 NEWS) -- Mike Pompeo, who served as secretary of state under President Donald Trump, will speak at the University of Virginia's Alumni Hall on Sept. 25, at 7 p.m.
The event is sponsored by the Center for Politics at UVA, the UVA College Republicans, the Jefferson Council for the University of Virginia, and Young America’s Foundation.
Pompeo’s address is titled “Talk Softly but Carry America with You: Inside Negotiations on the World Stage.”
The event is free and open to both the media and the general public.
Members of the public who would like to attend should register at this link by Monday. Attendees need to bring ID and should also plan to arrive early, as registration will not necessarily guarantee admission.
In addition to his time as secretary of state, Pompeo also served as director of the Central Intelligence Agency, and was elected to four terms in Congress representing the 4th District of Kansas.
