NELSON COUNTY, Va. (CBS19 NEWS) -- The Nelson County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a case involving fraudulent checks.

According to the sheriff’s office, the incident occurred between Aug. 25 and 28 when an unknown group defrauded a local business by using fraudulent checks worth more than $20,000 in total.

The Nelson County Sheriff’s Office is working with other local and federal law enforcement agencies on this investigation, including the Bedford County Sheriff’s Office.

Three suspects, all described as Hispanic men between 25 and 35 years of age, have been spotted on camera cashing some of the fraudulent checks.
