CPD arrests second suspect in May shooting

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (CBS19 NEWS) -- A person wanted in connection with a shooting in May has been arrested.
The Charlottesville Police Department says 18-year-old Zayon Jamir Payne was arrested on Sept. 13.
He is facing charges for a drive-by shooting that occurred on Preston Avenue on May 16.
Payne is facing charges of shooting from a vehicle, use of a firearm in the commission of a felony and attempted malicious wounding.
Additionally, Payne is facing a charge in connection with a robbery that occurred on Sept. 1.
A second person, Kyhiem Kier, is also charged in this case.
Payne will be in court on Sept. 28 while Kier is scheduled to appear in court on Oct. 5.
