WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. (CBS19 SPORTS) – The No. 22 Virginia women's soccer team are winless in their first three ACC games for the first time since 2002.

Second-half goals from Anna Swanson and Hannah Johnson helped the Demon Deacons pick up a 2-0 win over the Cavaliers Sunday afternoon.

“We fought and we battled, but in the end the better team won today," Cavalier head coach Steve Swanson said after the game. "I thought Wake Forest did a good job disrupting our attack. They picked off a lot of passes which started their transition game, and they are very good in that phase. We are finding out a lot about our team now which hopefully will help us as we move forward in the season.”

Despite allowing the two goals, Cayla White was stellar between the posts, recording a season-high seven saves on the afternoon.

The Hoos are back in action on Sunday when they take on No. 16 Duke at home at noon.
