CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (CBS19 NEWS) -- Normal operating hours will be resuming at Market Street Park in a little more than a week.

Charlottesville City Manager Sam Sanders announced Friday the operating hours will recommence as of 11 p.m. Oct. 21.

This follows an announcement Thursday from the organization PACEM that it would be opening its seasonal shelter a week early.

Additionally, the Salvation Army has beds available to assist some of the homeless who have been living in the park.

Sanders announced on Sept. 21 that the curfew at the park was being suspended.

This came after a person spoke during a Charlottesville City Council meeting, claiming a Charlottesville Police Department officer had kicked a homeless person who was asleep in the park.

CPD has since released body camera video of the incident, showing the officer tapped the man’s foot with his own in an attempt to wake him up and have him leave the park.

Sanders says he will be speaking again on the matter at Monday's city council meeting.
