CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (CBS19 NEWS) -- The Walk to End Alzheimer’s is this Saturday at Sentara Martha Jefferson Hospital. The walk site opens at 9 a.m. and the walk starts at 10 a.m. rain or shine.

More than six million Americans are living with Alzheimer’s.

Held annually in more than 600 communities nationwide, the Walk to End Alzheimer's is the world's biggest event to raise awareness and money for Alzheimer's care, support and research.

Go online to sign up to participate. More than 100 teams and several hundred participants have already signed up.

There is no fee, but fundraising is highly encouraged.
